Race Your Mates: Rev Tri V

This event was "the thing" before there was even a thing. Prior to NoodleBagz the brand, our group of friends got together to compete in the inaugural Mission Bay Reverse Tri. What started as a grassroots meetup evolved into a series of consecutive "Rev Tris" and even the famous relay race PB 1000. Today, it has become one of our absolute favorite holiday traditions.

The event embodies the two things we cherish the most about the brand and our friendships: Compete and Party.

The goal is simple: Race your mates. Whether it’s on the swim, the run, or the first pint at the after party. This is the day built on group chat trash talk. It’s where glory days are resurrected and a few Ex’s are texted.

On race day we heard excuses that read like an Ironman race report after someone “didn’t get the nutrition right”. This year’s course raised the stakes, featuring a new starting block ramp and an ominous, heart pounding start line countdown.

Athletes repped our Reverse Racer pairs. These designs are named after the number of races completed, a status marker in NoodleBagz events. Giving everyone another thing to compete in. Like test caps for the Lions these are hard to come by.

  • The Debutant: Worn by those taking on the Reverse Tri for the first time.

  • The Pro: Worn by racers returning for their second appearance.

  • The Master: Reserved for veterans and NoodleBagz loyalists competing in their third (or more) Reverse Tri.

We look forward to seeing more graduate into the next division next season. Until then, keep making up unrealistic goals to keep your mates guessing.
